Now that you have determined what group of people your Small
Group would like to reach, and with what kind of P.E.A.C.E. Project
to reach them, you are ready to begin preparing for your P.E.A.C.E.
Project. We hope that your time of discovery identifying
the people your Small Group is uniquely designed to reach was
an exciting experience. Remember, this is a discovery process
and for some Small Groups it will take a few experiences in the
community to clearly identify what group that is. However,
your group has a great head start because you are beginning with
intentionality and purpose. We encourage your Small Group
to continue examining your collective SHAPE in search for how
you can best utilize your uniqueness to fulfill the Great Commandment
and the Great Commission in your local community.
There are two important areas of preparation that your Small
Group will need to address:
Preparation through Prayer: This is your
most critical kind of preparation. There are several ways
you can prepare for your P.E.A.C.E. Project through prayer. You
can be intentional praying individually, set aside time in your
Small Group meetings to focus in prayer, or your group may decide
to do a prayer walk in the area you will be doing your P.E.A.C.E.
Project. All three forms of prayer are important as your
Small Group prepares for P.E.A.C.E. We have provided you
with training modules on prayer and these can be great tools
for your Small Group as you work to ensure you are prepared through
prayer. If you would like to learn about other habits of
spiritual maturity consider attending Destiny’s CLASS 201. You
can learn about and register for upcoming classes by clicking HERE.
Preparation through Proper Planning: Although
prayer is foundational to being prepared you must also ensure
that your Small Group is planning properly. Being prepared
is not solely a spiritual exercise, meaning, that if you pray
God will work everything out. As a matter of fact, the
Bible has a lot to say about being a wise planner. Proverbs
21:5 states that, “The plans of the diligent lead to
profit as surely as haste leads to poverty. (NIV)” Make
sure that you are taking the time to plan your P.E.A.C.E. Project
well. In doing so, your group will have a wonderful experience
as will those you are serving.
Your P.E.A.C.E. Champion will be contacting you to delegate
important tasks and responsibilities that are critical to the
success of your Small Group’s P.E.A.C.E. Project. In
order to make your project a success it will require the involvement
of the whole group. You are a key player in God’s
plan to conquer the global giants!
