As always, Jesus is our model. In the pages of Scripture, we read
story after story of how Jesus first met the immediate needs of
those he came across. Then he shared his life-changing
message of eternal hope. Traditionally, churches have worked
in their communities through activities like door-to-door witnessing,
inviting newcomers to Sunday services, or other church assimilation
practices. While those activities have great merit on a personal
level, Local P.E.A.C.E. offers you an opportunity to not simply
share Christ, but to literally become Jesus to someone
in your community. As you love them through meeting not only their
spiritual but also their social, educational, emotional, and physical
needs, “ they will witness the eyes, hands, and feet of a
living Savior through you.”
Plant Churches
…to push back the giant of spiritual emptiness
Equip Servant Leaders
…to push back the giant of corrupt leadership
Assist the Poor
…to push back the giant of extreme poverty
Care for the Sick
…to push back the giant of pandemic diseases and care for those who
suffer from them
Educate the Next Generation
…to push back the giant of illiteracy and lack of education
Jesus modeled the elements of the P.E.A.C.E. strategy during
his earthly ministry: he started the church, he set himself against
the legalistic leaders of his day, he fed the hungry, he healed
the sick, and he taught the disciples. The same global giants
Jesus addressed exist everywhere today—in nations around
the world, and in our cities, towns, and rural communities.
