Launch a P.E.A.C.E. Project |
It’s finally time to launch out and experience P.E.A.C.E.! We
hope that your journey has been wonderful so far. It only
gets better from here as you witness God transform the lives
of others through your efforts. God has incredible things
in store for your group as you continue together in obedience
to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. We have
included some helpful tips below that will help ensure your P.E.A.C.E.
Project is all God desires it to be:
Listen to God’s Voice: It is important
that you remain prayerful throughout the time of your P.E.A.C.E.
Project. Ask God to transform the lives of those you are
serving, to give you wisdom to make good decisions, to take advantage
of every opportunity, and to give you a sensitive heart to discern
His leading and receive insight.
Advance God’s Reputation: Your
primary role is to better God’s reputation in the minds
and hearts of those you serve. Make sure that you exemplify
the character of Christ at all times, even when confronted with
very difficult people. Ask God to help you respond to every
circumstance as Jesus would.
Uncover Community Strengths and Weaknesses: Although
we encourage you to assess the evil giants and how they are affecting
the people you desire to reach, it is equally important to assess
people’s strengths. Every person and people group
possesses strengths and assets that are underutilized. Ask
God to give you eyes to see the strengths in people that God
can use to empower people to help themselves. This is the
greatest method of bringing about transformation.
Notice and Nurture Key Relationships: As
you are introduced to people in the community you may experience
a special connection with someone. God allows opportunities
such as these to help us make a difference in people’s
lives as well as give us partners in His work. Make sure
to take special notice of these connections and seek to nurture
these key relationships by asking permission to follow up with
at a later time. Consider inviting them to church or to
your Small Group meeting.
Communicate God’s Love: Just as
it is important to represent Christ through our character it
is important to communicate God’s love whenever possible. Look
for opportunities to share your testimony with people or provide
a reason for why you are serving them. Ask God to provide
these opportunities to share Christ with those that do not know
Him.
Hold a Time to Debrief Your Experience: Once
your P.E.A.C.E. Project is over it will be very important to
debrief with your Small Group about your experience. This
will help your group identify what was accomplished, how God
moved in the lives of your Small Group members as well as those
you served, and identify key next steps for your Small Group. Your
P.E.A.C.E. Champion has access to a P.E.A.C.E. Project Debrief
Form to help your group ask key questions and facilitate meaningful
discussion.
