Embrace The Cause Appoint a P.E.A.C.E. Champion Design a P.E.A.C.E. Project Prepare for PEACE Launch a PEACE Project Embrace The Cause Appoint a P.E.A.C.E. Champion Design a P.E.A.C.E. Project

This step is meant to be read after your Small Group has held its Design Party, identified the group you want to reach, and have decided upon a P.E.A.C.E. Project idea.  Before your Small Group moves forward through the pathway to the Prepare step it will be important to take care of a few items.  We have provided design T.I.P.S. for you to make sure you get off to a great start in planning and organizing your PEACE Project.

Talk with Others about Your P.E.A.C.E. Project:  Make sure to talk about your P.E.A.C.E. Project on a regular basis with those around you.  This is an effective tool for getting others involved in your Small Group’s vision.  There are people all around you who would love the opportunity to be involved in something meaningful, and your excitement is contagious!  Also, talk with other Small Groups about what your group is doing.  There may be several Small Groups willing to partner with you in the cause.

Initiate Your Own Research:  Begin researching the people your Small Group decided to reach with a P.E.A.C.E. Project.  There are many sources to get the information that you need about those you want to reach.  Churches, city hall, newspapers, and local agencies can all help you find good information.  If you want to reach out to children at a local school, then the principal can be of great assistance. If you want to reach an apartment community, then contact the manager. If you want to reach out to a shelter that serves your people group, then contact someone on staff there. These people are there to help you.  The internet is a wonderful way to do research as well.  Try out some of these websites:  http://factfinder.census.gov; www.purposedriven.com/en-US/HIVAIDSCommunity; www.census.gov/acs.  Be sure to share what you find with the rest of your Small Group!

Pray for Your P.E.A.C.E. Project:  Prayer is the most important element of preparation.  You will receive more information on how to create a prayer strategy in the Prepare step.  For now, make sure that you are intentional about setting aside some time to pray for your PEACE Project.  Ask God to prepare your Small Group for what He wants to do through you, pray that He willcover all of the details regarding your project, and ask God to prepare the people He desires you to reach.

Set the Date!  Work alongside your P.E.A.C.E. Champion to solidify a date for your P.E.A.C.E. Project as soon as possible.  Your P.E.A.C.E. Champion is going to need every member of the Small Group to be responsive as they seek to coordinate calendars to ensure everyone in the group can participate.  Setting a date soon is very important unless you lose momentum and allow the enemy time to discourage members of your group.
